#UNEARTHED19
WHAT ...
WHAT
Event participants will have the opportunity to build upon three promising prototypes and potentially create their own career/small business, all whilst gaining valuable experience and enjoying networking opportunities within the startup scene.
The overall aim is to develop innovative solutions that lead to marketable products. The event will conclude with a final evaluation, where if successful, the results together with the prototypes will be merged into a functional company.
WHY ...

– A co-working job for three months
– Participation in the WKK 2020 startup program
– Consultation and support services from E.C.O, AERC and BetterCallMarkus

Prototypes
LBI
Standardized Calculation of Biodiversity!
The LBI (Long–term Biodiversity Index) is a new metric, allowing ecologists for the first time to calculate and measure the development of biodiversity (in a specific region) in a standardized manner. This technique has now been proven after years of development and testing; the process utilised is independent of region and can therefore be implemented worldwide!
MAP & GO
Complex terrain surveys made easy!
This new technology integrates survey technologies and quality assurance into one platform (tablet). Complex mapping work (utilising data from multiple surveying companies) can now be significantly accelerated whilst maintaining overall quality and accuracy. A working prototype is available which is currently undergoing comprehensive testing. ‘Map & Go’ can be used worldwide in agriculture, forestry, land use planning and other similar industries!
E – DNA
Species spectrum in one sample!
This method allows for the determination of genetic material in environmental media (either soil, water or air). The occurrence of species, species groups or species spectra can be immediately, accurately, effectively and securely proven. The products and services are yet to be developed; however, this disruptive technology is now available, and the possible applications range from food and environmental technology through to health care!
Prototype Creators
Founded in 1997, the ECO Institute for Ecology has risen to be a global leader in planning, consulting, research and training for protected area and nature conservation. Their work and services support both national and international clients to preserve and improve natural spaces, provide exceptional nature experiences to visitors and to improve rural livelihoods and economic conditions to project areas. ECO combines their stringent technical concepts with strong practical experience and professional design to produce both innovative solutions and high-quality results.
